how can i stabalize a toothpick sized projectile?????

if i have a metal tube just big enough to fit a rounded toothpick in it how can i shoot it and stabalize it so it fly's straight like a bullet. will i have to find a way to make it spin? if so how could i do this if im using compressed gas to fire it, and the toothpick cannot have fins or grooves on it.
